Hello y’all–
Gather around the camp fire: it’s time for the second chapter of American Gothic: The Hand of Poe!
You folks have been so kind in supporting the release of our second volume of American Gothic. Ezequiel, the entire New Futurists team, and I very much appreciate all of the messages you’ve sent our way since last month’s premier! We whole-heartedly believe that we have the best fans on the planet.
It looks like y’all have a few things you’d like to say, so keep those messages rolling in. The American Gothic reader correspondence feature, “The Purloined Letters,” will return in a few months, so hit us with your comments, questions, thoughts, fan-theories, and jokes. Please remember to mark your message as “OKAY TO PRINT” if you would like to see your letter featured!
Now hang on to your hats and let’s get into it! Remember that American Gothic is a horror comic and is not suitable for all readers. This chapter features depictions of gun violence, supernatural horror, blood, gore, physical violence, animal cruelty, and violence against women. Reader discretion is advised.
Thank you for spending some time with us today! If you’re a paid subscriber, keep scrolling for some special treats including a preview of Ezequiel’s line work for Chapter Three: Beware the Trickster!
We hope all of you enjoyed this chapter as much as we enjoyed making it! We’re working to get this thing into print publication, so like and comment below and consider sharing this post with a friend. And if you don’t have time, don’t worry. We love you regardless! See you in the funny papers!
All of our paid and Visionary subscribers: you are the story keepers that keep the lights on around here and we couldn’t be more grateful to you! Enjoy these preview pages for next month’s edition and an unlettered version of my cover illustration.
Sorry if this post shows up twice in your inbox, folks! There seems to have been some sort of distribution error.
Will we see more of the Illiterati??? Love the art in this chapter!
